Hidden Reliquary

History. This chamber was built to house the holy relics and blessed weapons of the greatest saints and warriors entombed in these vaults.

Features. This small chamber is choked with dust. Each of its mortared stone walls to the north, east, and south contains a small recess, each of which holds a small item or relic. An iron sword and shield hang from mounts on either side of the door in the west wall.

Secrets.

  • The northern recess holds the Chalice of Saint Marten. (Up to three times a day, the chalice's wielder can dip a creature into the chalice's mouth, which magically fills with blessed water and temporarily expands to fit them. A creature dipped into the chalice gains the simultaneous benefits of the revivify, greater restoration, lesser restoration, and heal spells.)

  • The eastern recess holds the golden, ruby-inset Dawn Crown of Prince Maraedo II, who conquered and ruled over this territory in Phodias' name in Lumonts' earliest years. A creature who wears the crown is immune to psychic damage and the Charmed and Frightened conditions.

  • The southern recess holds the platinum gauntlet of Sir Adrien of Vidunne, whose crusades quelled a "pagan" rebellion in Prince Maraedo's early reign. While wearing the gauntlet, a humanoid creature has advantage on Strength and Constitution saving throws.

  • The iron shield is the Shield of Dawn's Embrace, which grants its wielder advantage on Initiative checks and, three times per day, allows its wielder to gain the benefits of a shield of faith spell without concentration.

  • The iron sword is the Sword of Dawn's Fury, which has the properties of a +2 flame tongue shortsword, but deals only an extra 1d6 Fire damage on a hit.
