If the players disregard the knocking, a player closest to a window notices a flicker of movement in the snow outside, joined by the brief flare of a small, red, ember-like glow.
A moment later, words appear upon the window pane, written in crackling frost:
You are in grave danger. If we cannot speak, all may be lost.
Immediately after the words are read, an additional three knocks echo from the door.
